Constitution Hill Set for Punchestown Return

Constitution Hill Set for Punchestown Return

Nicky Henderson has given a positive update on Constitution Hill’s recovery, hinting at a potential return at the Punchestown festival. The unbeaten hurdler missed the recent Champion Hurdle due to a respiratory infection diagnosed after a below-par gallop. Despite signs of improvement, he wasn’t fit for Cheltenham.

However, Henderson revealed on today that Constitution Hill is back in full training and could target the Punchestown Champion Hurdle on May 3, provided his progress continues positively. The trainer emphasized the careful approach due to the horse’s recent illness, with Punchestown being the preferred option if all goes well. Otherwise, they’ll plan for next season’s Fighting Fifth.
