Keagan Kirkby, a beloved West Country point-to-point rider and valued member of Paul Nicholls’ team, has passed away following a fall at Charing point-to-point in Kent. Kirkby, 25, had been an essential part of Nicholls’ stable since 2019 and was recently recognised for his dedication in the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards.
The incident occurred when Kirkby’s horse veered out through the wing of a fence during the final race. Despite immediate medical attention and efforts from emergency services, he could not be saved.
